And the things that you need to get measurements from are many miles away. I'm pretty sure that's called a "stopping point for the day." My senior project advances nicely and so I rendered it in glorious 1080(some letter of your choice) resolution.

Q it is.
What is your senior project? It looks interesting.

Q: How does one steer this?

It's a thing

Funny, your gif doesn't work for me, but mine does.

Can the front-basket-thing be changed for a normal front wheel?

No

Usually I find myself in that stage and have to make shit up anyway - that I usually have to change later.

Yeah, I did a lot of that.

Is that a drum brake?

Now you're works. Mine is broke now. Oh kinja

I wish I had those kind of CAD skills. I can draw you floor plans, diagrams, elevations, sections and lot plans. That? 3D? Nope.

Yeah, I have AutoCAD 2014 (full with 3d capabilities) I just have no idea how to 3D.

Regular ass CAD sucks for 3D, I've done basic 3D models with it, several years ago.

I actually saw something very similar to this on the road yesterday except it only had one wheel in front of the large basket and no electric booster wheel (?)
it had a steering system like an old tractor which I thought was interesting

I saw some guys designing something like this last year. Their's was to hold a ladder.

I see a fundamental problem with using the existing bicycle's steering geometry in such an application.

Maneuverability will be fine for what I need.

If I had come across this thing at the age of 15 I wouldn't be here today. Put one teenager on the seat and as many as possible in the basket and then go as fast as possible, probably down a hill, all before realizing you can't turn, then the thing would mimic the stig driving a reliant robin and death would ensue.
Yup. I would still do it.

Fair enough. Either way, I'm trying to learn more so I can be a more marketable candidate for a job at some point. This job I am in now certainly isn't forever.

it will not steer at all, with the rake angle on the head tube and the position of the steering axle relative to it's axis, turning the handlebars will create a moment about X that will try to lift the outside wheel off the ground
![]() 10/28/2014 at 12:06 |

It'll steer just fine.

is the design massively incomplete?
![]() 10/28/2014 at 12:19 |

Yeah, it's the whole, I didn't have what I needed to measure part.
